Mizmor 1

Happy is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the wicked, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seat of the scornful.

kiy ʾim–bbətorat ʾadoonay ḥeftzo uvətorato yehgeh yomam valayəla

But whose delight is in the Torah of the Lord; and in his Torah he meditates day and night.

vəhaya kəʿeytz shatul ʿal–ppalgey mayim ʾasher piryo yitteyn bəʿitto vəʿaleyhu loʾ yibbol vəkhol ʾasher–yaʿaseh yatzliyaḥ

He is like a tree that has been planted beside streams of water, which yields its fruit in due season. His leaf does not wither and everything that he does is successful.

[ד] Mizmor 1, Verse 4

locheyn horeshoʿiym kiy ʾim–kkammotz ʾasher–ttiddefennu ruach

Not so the wicked; rather, they are like chaff that wind blows away.

[ה] Mizmor 1, Verse 5

ʿal–kkeyn loyokumu reshoʿiym bammishpot vechattoʾiym baʿadas tzaddiykiym

Therefore the wicked will not survive judgment, nor will sinners, in the assembly of the righteous.

[ו] Mizmor 1, Verse 6

kiyyodeyaʿ ʾadonoy derech tzaddiykiym vederech reshoʿiym toveyd

For the LORD cherishes the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.
