Mizmor 017, Verse 001

תְּפִלָּ֗ה לְדָ֫וִ֥ד שִׁמְעָ֤ה יְהֹוָ֨ה ׀ צֶ֗דֶק הַקְשִׁ֥יבָה רִנָּתִ֗י הַאֲזִ֥ינָה תְפִלָּתִ֑י בְּ֝לֹ֗א שִׂפְתֵ֥י מִרְמָֽה

tefillo ledovid shimʿo ʾadoonoy tzedek hakshiyvo rinnosiy haʾaziyno sefillosiy beloʾ sifsey mirmo

A prayer of David; Hear, O LORD, what is just, attend to my cry, incline Your ear to my prayer, which is not from lips of deceit.

MIDRASH TEHILLIM

...as if David was saying to God, Master of the universe, if in the morning of the Day of Atonement, before i say my prayers, You cause Your judgment of me to come forth, I will be unable to stand up. Let me first read the Shema.
